JOHN CHAPTER 1 – Daily Journal Questions
Day 1: The Word in the Beginning (John 1:1-5*)
🔹 Question: John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”What do you think John means by calling Jesus “the Word”? How does this verse help us understand who Jesus is?
Day 2: The Light and the Darkness (John 1:6-13)
🔹 Question: John describes Jesus as “the true light that gives light to everyone.” (v. 9) What do you think it means that Jesus is the light? How can His light shine in your life?
Day 3: The Word Became Flesh (John 1:14-18)
🔹 Question: John 1:14 says, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” Why is it important that Jesus became human? How does this show God’s love for us?
Day 4: John the Baptist’s Mission (John 1:19-28)
🔹 Question: John the Baptist said he was “the voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way for the Lord.’” (v. 23) What was John’s mission, and how can we also prepare the way for Jesus in our lives?
Day 5: Jesus, the Lamb of God (John 1:29-34)
🔹 Question: In verse 29, John the Baptist calls Jesus “the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” What does this title mean? How does Jesus take away our sins?
Day 6: Jesus Calls His First Disciples (John 1:35-42)
🔹 Question: When Jesus meets Simon, He gives him a new name, Peter (v. 42). Why do you think Jesus changed his name? What does this tell us about how Jesus transforms lives?
Day 7: Come and See! (John 1:43-51)
🔹 Question: Philip tells Nathanael, “Come and see.” (v. 46) What do you think this teaches us about inviting others to know Jesus? How can you invite someone to “come and see” Jesus today?
