The Chosen – Just the Scriptures

f you have heard of the biblical dramatic series called “The Chosen,” perhaps you are like me. I have pondered the question, “to whom does the title make reference?” The most logical answer is that the title could be referring to Jesus, God’s Chosen One. But then again, the show is a lot about the apostles. So, the title could be referring to the apostles who were chosen to be Jesus’s most intimate disciples who would take the gospel message to the world. However, “the chosen” could also be a reference to the people who heard Jesus speak and they believed He was the Messiah.

I do not know precisely who the creators intended the title to be about, but Scripture indicates the chosen are all of those people. The chosen are the faithful people of God — Jesus, the angels, the apostles, and all those faithful believers who are in Christ.

The following passages are a list of Scriptures from the New American Standard version that refer to “the chosen.” I hope you will take this list and read each one in the context of the book in which it was written to get the full understanding of who are “the chosen.”
